Admissions to Lydiard

Lydiard Millicent CE Primary and Ridgeway Farm CE Academy  are both academies of the Diocese of Bristol Academy Trust; as such, its Local Board has delegated authority to set the admissions arrangements for the school and is now consulting on the arrangements for 2021-2022.

The admissions criteria comply with the current Schools Admission Code and guidance from Bristol Diocese and Wiltshire Council.   A copy of the draft of Lydiard Millicent CE Primary Admissions Policy can be downloaded HERE and Ridgeway Farm CE Academy on their website http://www.ridgewayfarmcea.org/ Comments are not sought on the Planned Admission Number (PAN) or on the statutory requirements.

If you would like a copy of the proposed admission arrangements to be sent to you, please contact the school office on 01793 770571 or email clerk@lydiardmillicentceps.org.

If you have any comments or objections, please send them to the Chair of the Local Board, Mr David Cain on clerk@lydiardmillicentceps.org

The consultation closes on 19th December 2019.

The usual starting time is the September of the year when your child is 5 years old. Applications to our school are managed by Wiltshire Council and you can access the applications page HERE.

Once we have been sent a list of all the new children who have chosen us as their preferred school, we will write to you inviting you to come for an induction session. This first session is without the children so that you can be told all the information to help with a smooth start to your child’s learning journey with us.

This is an opportunity to meet other parents in the class, to learn more about the school, the staff & governors and to ask as many questions as you want!

At the meeting we will talk through the induction that your child will receive – we give them some taster sessions in the summer term before they start in the September. In the first week of school they come part time, sometimes mornings, sometimes afternoons so that they ease in gently and you get used to the routines too! This enables the staff to really get to know the children on a one to one basis which builds super relationships for the future.

You will be given lots of information at the start of your time with us, sometimes it can seem overwhelming! We are here to help, and if you struggle with any of the forms, Mrs Brudenell will be there to help – we are a friendly bunch!

If you missed starting with us in Reception (the first class) we sometimes have spaces in other year groups if children leave. Wiltshire Council admissions team will help you to apply.

We love our school and it is our aim to make children’s time at Lydiard a very happy time – remembering it with affection when they leave – come and join us!
